Connor Shields is a Chennaiyin FC attacker who has taken part in the vast majority of the club's Indian Super League matches in 2023/2024, making 21 appearances overall and accumulating 1,633 minutes of playing time. He has been selected in the starting XI in 18 of these appearances across their 23 fixtures and been used as a substitute on three occasions. The last time that Shields featured in the league came on April 20 for Chennaiyin FC against FC Goa; a meeting that he played 90 minutes in during a 2-1 loss. In total, he has scored three Indian Super League goals this term, making him tied as the side's third-top league scorer, and chipped in with two assists. He has been booked twice. It was against Punjab FC on October 29 when Shields last scored, netting with a brace in a 5-1 win. His opening goal of the campaign came in the 1-0 victory against Hyderabad FC on October 23. Shields played 14 Championship games last season for Queen's Park, scored five goals and provided one assist.
